Bill Laswell has reworked tracks from Santana’s classic solo LPs, Love Devotion
Surrender with John McLaughlin (1973) and Illuminations with Alice Coltrane (1974). The new album presents inspired (and inspiring) "reconstructions and mix translations" of tracks from Carlos’s first spiritual explorations. It includes liner notes collected from the writings of John Coltrane, Hazrat Inayat Khan, and the Dalai Lama. It also includes artwork by Japanese artist, Tandarnori Yokoo. The album, entitled “Carlos Santana / Divine Light", is now available in stores and online at www.legacyrecordings.com .
