MULTI DIMENSIONAL WARRIOR is a unique project, with every track personally selected and sequenced by Carlos to create an engaging journey through a soundscape of moods and feelings. In an unprecedented concept, disc one comprises 14 vocal performances chosen from albums spanning the 1970s, ’80s, ’90s, and ’00s, while disc two comprises 14 instrumental performances from albums covering the same years. In Addition, Carlos has added some new guitar parts to select tracks.

It was a warm summer evening with, gratefully, no rain in sight. The stage was set facing a beautiful plaza and surrounded by many classic examples of old European architecture, a spattering of green trees and a gorgeous old church. Among the highlights of this particular performance, Carlos would improvisationally explore Led Zepplin's "Stairway To Heaven" (which obviously delighted the German fans)...

The 2008 European Tour is underway and the response has been great! Just prior to leaving for Europe, Carlos and the Band played two very special benefit concerts to raise money for Milagro and the China Care Foundation. Soon after they were on their way to Europe where many old friends are waiting to make some great music and take in the Santana vibe. Beverly Knight and members of her band jammed in Manchester, UK and friends Idrissa Diop and Sheryl Crow are on the bill in London & Paris.

Carlos to appear on the upcoming George Clinton Album!

Carlos & George Clinton collaborated on Curtis Mayfield’s Gypsy Woman. Other artists include Sly Stone, Red Hot Chili Peppers and members of the PFUNk All-stars. The album is due come out in the Fall of 2008.

The Supernatural pre-sale starts 6-26 at 10am Pacific, Lifetime pre-sale starts 6-27 at 10am pacific. Public on-sale is on 6-30. Santana performs at Samsung Four Seasons of Hope to raise 1.1 million dollars for Charity

Samsung’s Four Seasons of Hope, an innovative goodwill program, held its seventh annual celebrity gala to benefit children and families on June 16th at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. Regis Philbin returned for his fourth Samsung gala and was joined by football greats Michael Strahan and Jason Taylor, who together co-hosted the celebrity-filled event. Samsung’s Four Seasons of Hope recognizes the charitable efforts of sports, entertainment, and political notables, including former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Wayne Gretzky, Arnold Palmer, Joe Torre, Boomer Esiason, and Dan Marino through fundraising programs tied to major retailers such as Best Buy, Circuit City and Sears. Santana gave a special live performance to the 650 guests in attendance where the Milagro Foundation was one of the benefiting charities from the evening’s event.

The issue discusses the 100 greatest guitar songs of all time and places Santana's Black Magic Woman at number 39.
There is also a one page interview with Carlos in the issue. Here is an excerpt from the interview.
"The more somebody plays fast around you, the more you slow down and play long, legato lines. In "Jingo" [on 1969's Santana], we had that bass line and the conga going in that rhythm. I had to do something different. Plus, I started with the violin, which was drawing long notes with a bow. I realized that playing longer notes, sustaining them, was more appealing."
