Santana Plans Busy Week in New York
It’ll be a busy week for Carlos Santana when he hits New York to perform next week. Next Wednesday afternoon, Carlos and his wife Deborah will hit the historic Macy’s store in Manhattan for a special reception and fashion show featuring the Santanas’ Carlos by Carlos Santana Shoe Collection. A portion of the proceeds from every pair of shoes sold goes to the couple’s Milagro Foundation, which donates money to children’s charities around the world. Wednesday night, Carlos and the band will play Madison Square Garden, then on Thursday he and Deborah will head to the Barnes and Noble in Lincoln Center, where Deborah will sign copies of the audiobook version of her memoir, Space Between the Stars. The audiobook may actually interest Santana fans because Carlos and his son, Salvador, wrote the original music found on the discs, which feature three original and exclusive Santana songs as well as music by Deborah’s father, the blues pioneer Saunders King.
