My VH-1 Music Awards as Voted by You!
On November 30, 2000 at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles Carlos added a couple more awards to his ever-growing collection. The difference at this awards ceremony is that the fans voted for him. Carlos took home honors as VH-1’s Man of The Year. In his acceptance speech Carlos spoke of dismantling fear, anger & brutality in the schools and how “Supernatural” has played a role in diffusing this fear. He later elaborated and said that the album has brought many generations and families together. ‘Smooth’ was voted in as a winner in the “Your Song Kicked Ass But Was Played Too Damn Much” category.
